I’ve been lucky and think my luck is turning as I’m seeing my sps decline one by one.

I’ve got a pest and need to decide to start dipping or try something else.

Well from November until now my alk and cal consumption has drastically slowed down. Corals stopped growing.

I have been at 8ml of alk per day since January I was at 20ml in November. I think my luck might be turning as I’ve had to add 2ml per day. We shall see.

Well after two years I’m going to add a skimmer. Even with water changes the water quality isn’t keeping up. Hope I can get the skimmer to fit in the first chamber.

I’m also going to start carbon dosing

I put the skimmer on today. After an hour it was producing skimate. Going to hold on carbon dosing until the skimmer breaks in for a week or so. Theses are pics when I first fired it up.

Nice did you have any issues with the water level changing in the right chamber? Mine seems to fluctuate an 1” or so

If memory serves, I would only see a change in height when I would turn the skimmer off (it would raise it a bit, but I don't think anything too drastic).

If left on constantly, there was no change

It’s been over a month since I posted pics of the tank. Growth is still stalled in comparison to late last year. But colors are coming back.

I started carbon dosing yesterday using Bacto balance, zeobak and zeofood plus.

My parameters are still high though. Trates 29 and PO .30. This is before my 25% WC I will do today. Also dosing lanthanum chloride for the PO.

This morning as the reef is waking up.

I ended up not connecting the ATO. I still have it. Instead, I use a DOS and top off that way with kalk. Currently 1300 ml per day. In the summer it will go up to 1500 ml. Hope that helps.
