Picked up a second tank yesterday at the LFS! ;)

It’s a IM 10 Pro. I put it next to my bed. Plan to make a nem/softie tank with maybe 2-3 fish And a few inverts. Maybe some sexy shrimp.

i started out with 8 lbs dry rock. I got some rubble and bio balls from the LFS sump. I added my filter floss and a small piece of live rock from my fuge from my 32 gal biocube.

Added 10lbs of oolite sand

added a bottle of dr Tim’s one and only; some substrate sauce from algae barn and some live phyto.

lights
kessil 160 blue

still need to get controller for kessil’s And an ato.

today. ammonia Was at 0 and trates at 1.5.

I setup everything yesterday

Since Sunday I’ve been adding flakes to ghost feed, live phyto, mb7 and some substrate sauce.

i tested yesterday with zero ammonia and 1.5 trates. Today wasn’t any different. The question did it cycle or not even start.

just to be sure, I threw a raw shrimp in the tank tonight. I will keep it in there for two days and see what happens.

Tested my nitrates tonight and they went to 3.5 vs 1.2 the last two days.

I believe I’m fully cycled and will be ready to add stock this weekend.

Didn’t end up getting any livestock yet. I believe I’m fully cycled but do think my dry rock is saturated with phosphate.

my trates are at 8 and phos at .44.

Going thru some uglies. Not sure if it’s Dino’s or Cyno. Stringy bubbly stuff so I took all the color spectrum out of the lights and lowered intensity. I should break out the microscope.

all the fish are eating well now. My clowns are turning a much darker color since I got them. I’m realizing my bio load is too much for this size tank. However my numbers are fine. Phos at .04 and trates at 5.6.

I might need to figure out some of forms if filtration. I’m only running some filter floss and some bioballs and a couple pieces of rubble. That’s it besides the rock and sand in the tank which is not alive yet.

I have some live phyto that I will dose to see if that helps clear things up.

I need to take some updated pictures. The zoas I got last weekend are doing semi okay. I glued them down this past weekend and we will see. The rest of the corals are doing okay. I attribute that to the tank being too young.

Thank you! You do need to Be prepared for The nem to split and remove if you don’t want a tank full of nems. Mine has split 4 times in 8 months
