Lumini Glisten 150R2 problems

OK, so its been about 3 months since I installed my Lumini Aqua Glisten 150r2 LED setup on my tank

Im running
60% 465nm blue
30 12k cool white
40 5k warm white
20% on the mixed color channel which is 410nm UV, 455 nm light blue, 630nm red, 515 nm green. All 3watt cree/bridgelux

Coral is looking washed out, so I was thinking of adding a metal halide into the canopy, I have a fan installed already to keep humidity down.

Thoughts, comments, opinions, anecdotes?

What do you mean by washed out? What would you expect out of the one Halide? At what Kelvin Rating?

They are growing, but have lost color. Has far as the halide I was thinking around 10k. From what I read even at 10k it provides a more complete light spectrum that might help get the color back in my coral.

I have neon green birds nest getting full polyp extension but it no longer the bright green it use to be. Most of my mushrooms look shriveled. On the other hand most of my zoas are doing very well.

I had a quad solarmaxx t5 35" prior to the led, and everything looked great.

The halide would be just supplemental light to the LED fixture

Ok, with all that said, why don't you turn up your cool whites then? You've only got them at 30%. ?? The unit you have should be plenty of lighting for your corals. Maybe its just time to bump up the output a bit.

I can give it another try. It seems like when I get the cool and warm whites over 30 softies look a little burned. I might increment s of 2 or 3 and take it slower. I have been doing increments of 5

I adjusted the channels. I am still having problems with my weslo brain and mushrooms. They are all shriveled up like its too much light stll. Im thinking of backing off the cool whites more.

I've been considering the purchase of the Lumini Glisten 150R2 lighting system. Are you still using the same lighting system? Now that you've had more time to make tweaks and adjustments to the settings, were you able to get the lighting system dialed in to meet the needs of the coral, and do you recommend this lighting system? If you can recall, where in the tank was the brain and mushroom corals located at the time of the last post on 08/20/2013? My thought would be to try placing them lower in the tank or in partial shade from a rock or another coral. An alternative placement could allow you to keep the higher cool white output for the corals that like it.

Thanks for any information you can provide in reference to purchasing the Lumini Glisten 150R2 lighting system.

I bought my lights directly from Lumini. The contact is Daniel Zhang via email [email protected]. I was really surprised that it only took about 5 days from shipping to receiving them!

The new version of the Glistens are really nice and wireless controllable.

Just a quick update. I dont think it was the lights that caused my problems. The tank had a heavy bioload and I also was having problems with chloro-mines in the local water supply. I have the newer version now and it has a better light layout
