Is anyone planning to go? It's in Las Vegas this year in September. I'm planning to go, it will be my first one. Was hoping to find some other people to go with.

Hope you make it out David, oddly you will always find someone you know at MACNA!

AND Reef 2 Reef could have an interest group meeting, so you can stop by at the R2R meetup and meet other forum members in the real! (maybe pinch them, make sure they aren't avatars).

ha! there is a Benihana is on-site!

... lot's of places for lunch around (we don't have any formal MACNA lunches planned)

The Attendee App will go live very soon as well, and that will be a great way for everyone to chat between each other and set up meetups outside the normal MACNA programming.

Oh cool thanks for the info. This is my first MACNA so wasn't sure how they do it. I 've been to many similar conferences in the IT world since that is what I do in my main life, and normally they serve lunch so I wasn't sure if they did the same thing at MACNA or just let people find something in one of the many on-site restaurants. The Attendee App will be nice for sure!

Yeah - everyone likes to lunch and learn (aka, sit and watch a speaker presentation while lunching) so no formal networking lunch like you'd see at other conferences.

Just make sure you are keeping your coolers separate! 1 for LUNCH and 1 for FRAGS

Frags for lunch sounds, uhhh, unsatisfying.

So does anyone have a list of all the public aquariums we can visit while in Vegas? I haven't been there for 8 years. The last time I was there I went to the Mirage and saw the huge aquarium behind the check-in desk. Would be cool to do a tour of all the tanks out there that are open to the public.

We should all plan to meet at Benihana or something one day and do lunch. Would be great to meet everyone from the area. My first MACNA so I'm super excited. Building a 400 gallon mixed reef this Fall, so I've got a laundry list of vendors to talk to.

We actually have an agreement with the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay to give everyone who comes to visit the aquarium a $5 discount if they have a MACNA Pass! (that makes entrance only $15)

Plus - hint hint - ATM is nearby and does tours of their manufacturing facility! See a TANKED tank first hand!
