I have a JBJ nano cube 6 gal. I have room in the 3rd chamber for some macro algae such as chateo. This area received no light though, is this a good idea or will they just die out with no light ?

Hard to kill chaeto but no light defeats the purpose of having it. Chaeto uses photosynthesis to grow. No light, no nitrate removal.
