Hi! I also converted to saltwater earlier this year from aquascaping. I had the impression it would be easier in the long run…We’ll see.
I’m running an Oase Biomaster 250 with internal heater on a 30G rimless waterbox. I ordered deeper stainless steel inlet/outlet pipes for better water turnover and to prevent ugly algae growth on glass outlets. That was a mistake you should not make! They rusted within a month and leached iron and nickle which caused chaos with the microbiota. Now trying to eradicate the dreaded dinoflagellates before all my corals die.
Hi, welcome! I had a path very similar to yours (freshwater 10y, aquascaping last 4-5, converted to saltwater a couple of months ago). Looking forward to your build threads!
Thank you everyone for the warm welcoming! It's much appreciated. I look forward to contributing to R2R and gaining more knowledge on reefing. I will be starting a build thread soon! This is more addicting than planted tanks.
