Magnesium dosing what is the best way

Ok so what is the best and or easiest way to dose magnesium. Let's not forget cheapest.... I am currently using Red Sea reef foundation but I have a big tank and well it's not cheep. I thought about adding mag to my Ca reactor but that is running really well and don't want to mess with it. I am thinking about Epsom salts but haven't found quite the info I need to say yay or nay on that one. What do you thing and or use and why?

Have you measured and you know you need it?

Assuming so, the best and cheapest way to go is a DIY made from magnesium chloride (from BRS or Dr Foster and Smith, etc.) and Epsom salt (from a drug store).
