magnesium in a CA Reactor

I am wanting to add Magnesium to my CA Reactor, is that possible? I saw some magnesium flakes that you can add with the reactor media. Anyone using them?

I purchased Estes' Ultra Reef Dolomite years ago but did not use much. Is it safe to use or would something else be better?
