making ro-di to fast

Just did a tune up to my ro-di.I replaced all of my filters and di and the check valve.Turn on the system and it made 40 gallons of water in 1.5 hours.It is a 100 GPD unit.What is causing it to make that much water.Also is the water that it made any good.
 
First off I am by no means an expert in RO/DI, so hopefully others who know more will chime in.

With that kind of production it sounds like your RO Membrane is getting bypassed.
I would pull it and check the gaskets to see if one is deformed.
If looks okay reinstall and run again to see it it was not seated properly the first time.

I would check the TDS on the water produced if you want to try to salvage it.
The short residence time going through the DI resin was probably not enough to get the TDS down to usable levels.
Lastly if the membrane was bypassed the DI resin got hit with much higher ion concentrations so the life of the resin moving forward will be reduced so you will probably have to change it out sooner.
 
I had a similar problem with my RODI, I called the company and they said to make sure that I had switched the filter cleaning system to off/ no flow, and it increased the amt of water I was getting by like 3x. HUGE difference.
 
Did you flip the switch on the membrane flush valve over?

My system does not have that feature.
 
Either your RO membrane is not seated all the way in the housing (it goes in further than you think), the membrane housing has a hairline crack allowing water to bypass or the membrane is bad. Di you remove and replace the membrane? If you removed and used the same one it could be telescoped or damaged from the removal and reinstallation or the gaskets and O-Rings may be rolled over or damaged if you did not clean it well and lube the rubber parts with silicone grease. If its new it may just need seating further in the housing or again the rubber parts may need lubing.
 
All the above ideas are good suggestions and need to be looked at. But IMHO you need to get a handheld TDS meter for about $20 so you can test your water. You'll use it more than you think. I have 2 dual inline TDS meters (what's 4 test points) in my system and I still use the hand held meter to double check the final product.
