Looking for some advise on Mandarins

Getting a lot of conflicting info on whether or not they'd be ok in my 33gal tank. Some are saying no problem and others saying no chance.

So for context, at present I have a large aquascape in there, so plenty of space for pod population to grow. In the tank at present I have 2 clowns, a cardinal and a royal gramma and CUC.

The only objection people seem to have is Pod population, so if you are to feed pods from a bag on top of the 'native' population within the tank will this be fine?

Had the tank 6 months, so don't know if i will need to wait a bit longer for population to develop!

Thanks

I have one in my 29g. No sump or refugium, just an AIO chamber. It's been up and running a year, I've seeded pods many times prior to the mandarin and I started 2 copepod cultures about 3 months prior to getting the fish. I add pods weekly from my cultures. I have seen him try flake and frozen too when they float past and land on a rock he's staring at. It took a while before I noticed him trying prepared foods though. And not an over active frozen eater, those are just by chance, mostly pods still. He's got a chubby belly so I know he's eating enough.

About 2 months ago I bought a green Mandarin for my 40 breeder. At first I was worried because he wasn't a captive bred so the thought that he might starve was out there. After I started feeding frozen mysis, he would love it and now he is nice and fat. My tank is only about a year and a half old so its not really that mature yet. I guess I just got lucky.
