Hi fellow Reefers
I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new Giesemann Matrixx dimtec T5 fixture in the meantime while I wait for deliveryI've been trying to think of ways to mount this 70 pound beast. I find it very nerve-racking to have to do maintenance on the light over water. I happen to have this pillar that the tank is under. I have built a aluminum rail system utilizing the pillar I used heavy duty rubber wheels that are able to move freely with aluminum framing. The mounting System can move right over the tank and a way from the tank to do maintenance.
Opinions are welcome..

Looked at it at first picture, and I was going to make a suggestion. Then I scrolled down more and said to myself "that is a great idea".

Nice rack. For me as I am not as handy, I just put 2 bars of wood over the tank just in case when I mounted the fixture up or to take it down. Bulbs replacement, I don't even bother putting the wood bars on. I might have raised the light a bit for more working room. ;-)

Nice tank and nice living room you got there! Beautiful presentation

I would put some reinforcing screws through the wood trim into the wall studs. Trim like that is usually only attached with very small nails and never meant to take any kind of load.

great idea.
