SCIENTIFIC NAME - Arothron mappa

COMMON NAME - Map Puffer

SIZE - 25.6" (65 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 240 US Gal. (908 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied marine meaty diet, chopped shrimp, squid, clams, enriched krill, fish, marine preparations for herbivores, feed at least 3 times a day.

REEF COMPATIBILITY - Not recommended, eats sessile invertebrates and Coraline algae.

CAPTIVE CARE - Advanced aquarist status recommended to keep one of these, de-worm and file teeth down as needed to prevent overgrowth. Keep singly, not aggressive towards other fishes. Provide a large cave or overhang for shelter, will destroy hard coral skeletons, faux corals, and aquarium equipment. Needs plenty of room, shy at first, but, will come out more as acclimated. Not for the beginner.
