Marineland Portrait 5G Build

Hey all, I've begun my delve into Pico Reefs. I set this up as a kitchen accent about a week ago. The scape is sort of a three-way arch configuration, since this will be seen from three different angles. I'm using an 18W Kingbo light, I think it looks pretty clean. My only issue so far has been noise from the pump. I'll be replacing it soon, along with the typical upgrades this tank gets, although I'm considering a 'fuge in the future.

I'm considering a fish and a cleaner shrimp. I kind of want to put in a Pseudochromis. But considering this will be a mostly softy tank, it would be great to see a clown hosting a bunch of Anthelia or something.

Hello again, it's been just over a week now, and the tank is doing pretty well. I've added a Diadema Pseudochromis, and have decided to name it Jeaux. I also got some more of the Anthelia that's in the other tank, albeit covering a turbo snail shell. It took a bit to find a position where the flow was strong enough, but now that it's in place, I can't take my eyes off of it!

Wow! Those anthelias look stunning! Happy little fish too, got the whole place to himself. Love the build so far, looking good! I’m doing a Pico reef in the exact same tank, different light tho. Do you keep your glass lid on, or no?

Hey just started following, I've bought a 5g tank for my clownfish as a QT to heal her infected wound, and when I'm done I've debated whether I should make this a nano fish tank or not (it doesn't have blue lighting and I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a blue light that works, that isnt $400 XD)
First question is how often do you do maintenance?
Second, would it be okay to put a single clown in there? With maybe a shrimp?

Hello All! It's been around 4 1/2 months since I posted here. The tank is running strong and more successful than I initially anticipated.

I've only done around five or six water changes and two or three filter changes since setting this up, and after that, it mostly began to take care of itself!

A large amount of invertebrates have spawned, and now the tank is bustling with activity at night! I'll make a separate post detailing them.

I also have a pico reef that I built using the marineland portrait. It’s mostly a softie tank, but I also have a handful of gracilaria tucked behind the rock.

Stocked with 5 dwarf hermits, 6” serpent star, yellow clown goby, a sexy shrimp, one emerald crab, and a margarita snail.

I do a water change about once a month.
