6 years ago you wrote about a hybrid Maroon/Tomato clown hybrid. https://reefbuilders.com/2012/11/28/wild-tomato-maroon-clownfish/#

I saw a hybrid, wild collected clownfish that appears to be a Maroon hybrid based on body shape and eye color.

These hybrids are really beautiful. Not quite sure why they haven't garnered more attention. Have you seen anymore lately?

No, haven’t seen them lately. Blood orange and Mai tai clowns are somewhat popular as they seem to sell fairly quickly at most fish stores. Other than that there aren’t that many Maroon hybrids available on the market.

Other than not having space for that specific clown I had concerns about potential pairing. Would a regular Maroon juvenile eventually outgrow this hybrid? Possibly.

Would a juvenile male Tomato pair with an adult female Maroon?
Generally speaking it might. In my specific case I didn’t know which tomato clown it was. Was it fire clown, regular tomato, cinnamon? Didn’t have enough info for potential pairing so I passed. But in general terms our aquaculture facilities are known to have hybridized different clowns.
