Good afternoon and I am hoping someone has some insights. I have this maroon clownfish on hold and was wondering if it has unusual coloring/markings, is normal, a designer maroon, or possibly a hybrid with another clown? I ask because of the black that is on the fins and the last stripe is broken and there is a white dot on the tail.

I have tried looking at various pictures and from what I can tell a normal maroon doesn't have the black edging on the different fins.

I have posted a pic to help.

Thanks Jason

Doesn't look hybrid to me. I've seen many maroon juveniles with back on the fins, that will fade with age. As far as the stripes/spots, there are a few captive strains of maroons that have various levels of appearance, which this clown is likely one of.

Ok thanks. I wasn't sure if the black was from being on the smaller side or not. I tried looking but haven't seen any pics really of the black edging. I didn't think it was a hybrid but thought I would throw it out there. I saw a picture of a gold flake maroon that had similar striping so maybe it is something like that.
