As some of you may know, I used to be a reefer, after a year I lost a seahorse and after that my whole reef went south. I took down the nano and left up the 29gallon with a breeding pair of maroons. A few weeks ago I gave away my pair of maroons to a friend and decided to start up my nano reef again. I moved about 35lbs of live sand from my FOWLR and have about 40lbs of live rock that will be going in when I figure out how to build a nice rock format. For lighting I had to replace the ballast as it went bad from water damage and I replaced the 2 bulbs which are Coralife 36w 50/50. Filtration is the standard nano filter. Fish in the tank will be a damsel, a pair of clownfish, haven't decided on what breed specifically, but will most likely be a. latezonatus, black ocellaris, or a. leucokranos. Corals will be mainly zoanthids with a few softies mixed in.

Its all good, clowns are extremely hardy fish, I planned on putting the damsel in in about 2 weeks then after 3 I'll start looking for my clownfish because I know it'll take a while to find a nice pair or trio.

I do as well, I had ran it with crushed coral and no matter what people say about it, it will cause serious problems. The sand if Arag-Alive Indo-Pacific Black, it looks nice under all lights and it goes with the back of the tank.

Yea, after 3 weeks of having seahorses in the tank, it went from a nice white to a brown pee color.

I never tried to clean it, after a while, I gave up on it, and would flip it over with a spoon once a month, note do not try this as it will result in tank parameters spiking.
