Looking to get rid of these guys. They have been paired up for about 4 years now and nest in a very deep crevice in rocks so it has been hard to check if they actually laid eggs but im 90% sure they have. When they nest they disappear for a couple of days and it seems they like really small, deep crevices in the rocks.
Only asking $30 for the pair, as i am really only looking to sell to a more experienced reefer and make sure they can live out the rest of their lives together. Very peaceful but am downsizing to a 25 and unsure how they will react to other fish in such a small tank (peaceful but uk they are damsels)
Local pickup only nyc lower east side

here they are in the hob for rn waiting for a new home. looking for better pics of them but they are so fast. one is a more solid blue all over the other much more black

probably, i wudnt want them to team up and hurt ur current one. what tank size?

that is rather large so you may actually be able to get away with three.

im jealous... and cold. hope you have a nice time!

@alabella1 sent you a pm please lmk if you are still interested. if not i have to go see about shipping these guys in the next couple of days. thank you

I don't want you to have to deal with shipping them, esp. in this weather. Are you able to meet up at all?

Sort of as I dont have a car. I can meet further uptown manhattan but once i need to transfer from subway to train it gets a bit expensive. I will talk to you more tomorrow as I have a friend that goes ice fishing every weekend so he may be able to meet closer.
Also let me know if you will be in the city anytime soon. I transferred them to a temporary 10 gallon with a citron goby that has been killing my sps frags

Just for the record, how do these mated damsels behave in their aquarium?
Do they attack and defend their territory like clownfish are famous for?
Bite, draw blood, chase and attack the hand when you are working in the aquarium?

I had a pair of Talbot's, the female was a terror in her prime, eventually killed her mate and super territorial and defended the entire tank from the hand, attacking boldly and viciously for many years. She even lost an eye fighting with other fishes, but still maintains a high perch among a much larger purple tang and other insanely agressive tank mates.

Thanks, sorry for the hijack, but you have a unique situation providing a home to these!

they are pretty easy going most of the time. will chase a new fish a bit if it is small but arent that confident due to their small size. when they have eggs they make a nest in deeper crevices and usually one just patrols the entrance. ime they make the nest deeper in rockwork where they really have to maneuver to get in which is why rockwork with a lot of deep holes like pukani which is mostly dead coral skeletons calcified work well. they dont go out of their way to protect them from the whole tank maybe 5 inch around the opening but it is usually just a dart out and then back in.

They seem to be one of the more docile damsel fishes. I have read this but you are the first person to have a pair ime! Thanks for the reply. If I wasn't on the other side of the continent, or second in line I might have given these a try. They could be a fun project for mariculture.
