I've been out of town working for the last 7 weeks. My wife feeds my fish and keeps the water topped off and that's about it. Today she took a picture of what looks like fish eggs on the glass half way down right in the middle. I have a pair of Coral Beauty Angelfish and a pair of Engineer Gobies. Here's a recent FTS after she cleaned the glass for the first time since I left. Then a shot of the eggs on the glass. She's not the best at taking pictures.

Angels are broadcast spawners, so I doubt its them. Idk about engineer gobies, but I wouldn't think they would lay eggs on the glass. I would be more inclined to believe it was a snail that laid eggs. Either free fish food, or free clean up crew. Either way, win win.

7 weeks away from home... jeez I though I worked a lot. I'd go crazy.

My Caribbean rose coral really blossomed since I left for Detroit. I'm moving this weekend to Detroit from Augusta.

My other coral haven't farred as well unfortunately. Out of 13 that I got from AquaSD around Easter only 2 are good 2 are barely alive and the rest have perished. I think my high PO4 is to blame.

Good luck with the move to Detroit. That's going to be quite a change for you come January!

Well I opened the door to the Uhaul and found this...
20190831_123953.jpg

My daughters skateboard shifted in transit and broke the side glass of my tank.

I transferred everything to a 60 gallon water barrel meant to be part of my mixing station.

My original plan to keep my livestock alive was to move the tank dry then add back water and livestock for the journey but I changed my mind and transferred the livestock to a 5 gallon bucket which I kept a powerhead running until we left. When we got here I put the powerhead back in the bucket until I could get everything transferred into the barrel. The only fish that made it were in the tank hidden under the sand during the journey. 7 fish dead 3 urchins sea cucumber and untold snails and many dead bristle worms. It looks like my rose coral made it which was in one of the buckets with all the dying corpses.

So sorry to hear, Matt. That is just terrible.

I have a 5'x2'x2' SCA 150 with a central internal overflow with plumbing going through bottom of tank. I have regretted everything about the setup except for the price. I've been wanting to transform into a Peninsula with a coast to coast external overflow. Also the tank comes with 3 1" bulkhead holes so I have no choice but to have Herbie drain with one 1" return. If I transform into coast to coast, I will be able to accommodate two 1" returns and a bean animal drain. I recently moved from Augusta, GA to Detroit. During the move, my daughters skateboard shifted and broke the top of my side panel of the tank.

I've been thinking that now would be a good time to modify the tank for coast to coast. I was thinking that I could carefully remove th broken piece. Take it to a glass shop and have it cut down to be a smooth Weir. Then have some new 1/4" glass cut for my external overflow box. One problem I see is that the tank is eurobraced so after this modification I would only have 3 sides of eurobracing. Maybe I could eurobrace that side just below the water line. Or maybe an internal overflow box could perform the structural function of eurobracing.

I decided to start a new build thread to update the repairs to my tank:

I'm doing good. Busy between reading Steve tyree's books about cryptic zones and slowly rebuilding my tank.
The Fam is much better being back in the D. I/we love the warm weather but we really don't fit in.
How have you been?

Went through some "stuff" but won't bore you with the details. Feeling much better now and looking forward to the new year! Thanks for asking.

Happy you and your family are all well and in a more comfortable place!
