What is the upper limit where i should be concerned for PH? I'm able to keep my ph between 8.3 - 8.45, but is 8.45 to high or is there room to go even higher?

I would not be concerned about high pH until it got above pH 8.55, and the main drawback seems to be accelerating precipitation of calcium carbonate.

High pH is not usually encountered unless one is dosing very high pH additives. Simple aeration keeps the pH from getting too high.
