Hi I saw some post from serious reefs showing that the maxspect app was pretty close to representing the “biologically” best lighting spectrum. Can anyone confirm my spectrum is correct in this regard? The new light I got is pretty overpowered for my little LPS tank so I had to drop the intensity way down. I’m just supposed to look at the color/spectrum graph right? Just want that big blue peak and the small even bumps for purple/green/red correct?

The AB+ spectrum is not the same as this right?

Bump? Penny for your thoughts? Anyone have any insight into the current understanding of best spectrums for LPS tanks?

I think there’s AB+ (ecotech?), BRS/Serious Reefs recommended, and WWC style? Maybe other philosophies on spectrum out there too? Just trying to understand the options I have for this maxspect light. Thanks!

The "original" AB+ special was based on ATI t5's.
Specifically ATI Blue Plus and ATI
AquaBlue Special in a combination of 80%/20%
and specifically in *ATI Powermodules.

Combined spectrum in correct ratio

Most just boil leds down to like 100% "blue" ((UV,Violet,Blue) and 25% "other" (Red, Green, Whites)
Technically a bit of emphasis on green, no red below like 640nm, and warm white over cool white.
Dim according to species, Adjust "blues" (Violet, Deep blue, Windex) to taste.
