Hello,

I have 3/4-inch glass on my tank, which requires strong magnets for equipment. Maxspect advertises that the standard XF350 Gyre can handle up to 20mm (even thicker) glass.

Well, it appears that it cannot. Moreover, if you increase the power, then within a matter of minutes, it will come undone. It is pretty much useless, and you only find out AFTER you purchase it.

So, I contacted Maxspect, thinking that they would have a solution. However, I was advised that “it is what it is.”

I don’t think I have ever received such a response in my life... and I am 45 years old.

At first, they sent me very detailed instructions on how to attach the magnet by applying more pressure to it. I believe I am not the first one complaining, which is why such detailed instructions exist. But then they accused me of “touching it heavily” and responded that “it is what it is.”

I just wanted to let the community know how Maxspect is treating customers.

A quick Google search reveals that this is actually a problem with Maxspect powerheads, and the manufacturer is well aware that they are providing false specifications.

Good luck with business Maxspect!

Igor

P.S. A piece of mail showing the “it is what it is” response is attached. Crazy!
