So do you have a point of view pro / Con of using the 90 vs the 120 optics

I have mostly sps but I had a few zoas that wouldn't open up until I switched the optics. I got good sps growth and color under either optics but I think I ran the whites at 60% with the 90's. The spread was better and the color was more even with the 120's. I would still be using it but the end of it fried and it costs half as much to fix it as the light cost. I just trashed it.

I have two of the 16k 160w fixtures over my 130, both with 90° optics. It's been almost a year since I've messed with settings they've been dialed in for a while so bear with me on my memory haha. They're on blue at 1% from 9pm-9am for moonlight. And set to ramp for 3 hours, peak for 6 hours, then ramp for 3 back down to moonlight. And I'm debating cutting back the peak time because these lights can easily fry corals.
I believe I have the 6 time points at
A:0%,35%,50%,50%,20%,0%
B:1%,45%,75%,75%,55%,1%
Keep in mind that every system will be different, LED's take a bit of playing to get the settings perfect.

Growth is well within what I'm okay with for an LED system. SPS do well, although color is often hard to get what I'm used to. I have ATI T5 over my coral flat so I'm always a little harsh on LED's. Let me try and find some progression pics real quick.

Time of day and angle is a little off. But it shows growth.

Growth is steady on the sps and the lps on the bottom are blowing up. Zoas are at mid level and seem to like it. Color on everything was great until I had a nitrate issue but color on everything is coming back. I tried day time intensity at ch1 65% ch 2 95% and just made all my lps either stay closed or very little polyp extension.

@ash9965 Did you try out any of the available [HASHTAG]#lux[/HASHTAG] [HASHTAG]#meter[/HASHTAG] options yet? $free app....can't beat the price! ;)

@ritter6788 Can you tell us what's your peak lux measurement at a few places at the water surface?

Interesting if you play with that graph....that the day length doesn't vary at 0º lat. but sun power does still vary over the year.

Huh, you guys seem to run yours lower than mine. I am running 90deg optics, and in addition to this I have a single kessil 160we that runs from 12:00 to 22:00 (ramps up from 12 to 14 and then dims slowly till the off period). I did slowly ramp mine up over time, but this is what I am currently running:
A B
10:00 0 0
12:00 90 80 * Burst of A higher than B, not sure if it helps growth, but I enjoy the variation
16:00 60 100
21:00 10 65 * night time is very blue at my house
22:00 0 10
23:30 0 0 * Basically moonlights from 23:00 to 23:30

I don't have it anymore but I think (IIRC) 40,000 was the highest point with the 120 degree optics. That's about 5-6 inches over the water line and measuring the center of the light.
