How hard is it maintaining the pipefish? I hear there difficult in a full reef setting. Love the achilles,.....and pretty much everything else about your tank. Are water changes avoided due to the calcium reactor? and have you always had the fuge if not did it have a large impact on your reef when added?

The challenging part with the pipefish is maintaining pod's. I usually just take my macro out and shake it up inside the dt to release fresh pods into the system once a week and shake the poo off to feed the sps. If I had to guess yes the calcium reactor with coral bones media help me to avoid water changes. I have two friends with far better reefs than me that also do minimal water changes and run calcium reactors. I have had the fuge since day one setting up the tank.
