Mechanical filtration before refugium affect pods

Would adding this in the first chamber reduce my pod population in innovative marine lagoon

Most mechanical filtration will trap pods but I rarely see any in my floss. I always have some in socks. All of my tanks have filtration as the first chamber, sumps and AIO

Any type of filter or powerheads will inevitably kill a few pods, even just scraping the glass might kill a few, but there are thousands in your tank, and they reproduce every few weeks.
