"- A canopy that I can lower and raise for maintenance with a VFD and motor connected to the PLC, also will use it to raise and lower it through out the day to simulate the suns intensisty."

Would you be able to have a dimmer function to use with T5 lamps and the IC660 ballast?

On a side note, you should start a thread when you get back again about the tanks and the hobby out there in general. Did you get any pics of tanks while there?

Thats something we should ask Steve Pro. I think you could use a MOV to control the voltage, kinda like a Watlow Din a mite. I use one for my heaters. The PLC can put out a 4-20ma analog output to the din a mite. The program would be easy, so you would say" when time = 1200 set output to 50% or whatever. Just repeat for every hour or half hour the lights are on.

Ok, I just got the panel in and gutted it, now the fun part. I installed both PLC racks, the light rack raise/lower drive.

Now that Im unemployed, it might take longer to finish.
