Memorial Day, which is the last Monday in May is a holiday and many of us have off from work or school and some of us look forward to sales.

But lets also remember that Memorial Day, which started right after the Civil War, is to honor our men and women who died fighting for America.

Too many of my friends died in war and I will never forget their sacrifice.

If it were not for them, think how different our lives would be today.

I say this to people every year around this time. Memorial Day isn't about BBQ and good deals on the weekend, it is about remembering the people that have the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom. Some of the same freedoms that many people take for granted on a daily basis. I for one will never forget those sacrifices since I have buried more of my Marine Corps brothers then I care to mention. So if I could like this post more than once Mr. PaulB then I would... this country needs a few more good people like yourself in it. Let me just take one second to say to any military member past or present that reads this post.. or a family member of a military member that made that sacrifice... If nobody in this country ever says it to you I will say it now. I love everyone of you, I have the up most respect for you, and those sacrifices will never be forgotten. God bless each and everyone of you out there and God Bless America.

I myself like to take it a little further and use this day to remember ALL that provide a public service. The big five is what I call them. Remembering service members, police officers, fire fighters, paramedics and teachers.

This is why we enjoy this day as families and friends play, barbecue, swim and relax. They did this for us all. Remember them.
