I'm in the process of building a stand for a 65 gallon tank that I will use for a QT.

Framing (Used 4S4 Poplar):

I'm still wondering if I should cut the right mermaid's tail to match the left one or leave it as is. I had to cut the left one to allow the door to open.
 
I say leave it.... You couldn't rotate the other mermaid so her tail would be outside?

If rotated the left mermaid would have been looking in towards the door, exposing more of the back of the mermaid. I want the front of the mermaids to be more of the vocal point.
