I had a lid from Toplids on my IM 20. I was all excited till i got it.
One it took forever to get a basic lid.
It wasnt anything special except some mesh in cut acrylic.
the light glaring was blinding anytime I went to the tank.
it still had enough gaps I lost fish jumping out.
Over hyped and overpriced. When I was putting together my new 40breeder build I was looking for something else.
I found this and I find it to be 1000x better of a lid because there is ZERO gaps anywhere and the mesh is smaller and tighter and no glaring look. Plus its fraction of the price
Amazon product ASIN B0CMLNZ75JI have had it on my new tank since i setup a few weeks ago and its so much easier to deal with I feel.
I personally would never shell out the money for those custom lids anymore after having one.

What did you get? The link is broken

hmmm it worked for me

Mesh Lid
I used something like that for a quick QT tank once, it barely lasted for the almost 3 months I needed the QT tank. Perhaps the one you got holds up better.

its not showing any signs of any issues so far
Even if id did have an issue. I have enough mesh to redo the whole thing again and if something else did go wrong its only $20 for another

the magnet part that sticks to the frame is strong and the magnets themself hold the top very tight and it takes some force to pull it free

I love my top lids.
It is expensive and takes a little time because he custom makes them.

I had clear view and lost fish since it wasn’t fully enclosed (corner seams). Also salt creep between the parts of the “evo” was terrible. I went Kraken and so far so good. No open corners and solid

Tried a few kits before concluding none merit high marks for materials, durability, aesthetics, precision or ease of use — but other than that they’re great.

Octo Reefs makes great custom lids. Bit the bullet and never looked back.
