mesh top advice

Haven`t seen it mentioned. Was wondering if you could use some type of heavy, stiff electric wire to frame in a mesh top? Especially with having 2 overflows, 2 returns, and the light fixture legs to work around.

I did the DIY Red Sea mesh lid. You’ll want to order some extra zigzag kits with it if you have multiple things to work around, if you go that route.

I would be a little concerned about the wire corroding and leaching metals into the water. Even if you’re talking insulated wire, I would be worried about the exposed ends.

Not saying it’s not possible, but those would be my concerns.
