Do Mexican turbo snails need substrate to live? A few weeks ago I moved two snails from the main tank to a 10-gallon quarantine tank because I had to medicate one of the fish with medicine I was told was not safe for invertebrates. After one week, one snail dies. Now, after two more weeks, the other snail looks like it is dying (hasn't moved in 24hs). The aquarium water is fine (0 amonia, nitrate and nitrate), 78 F temperature, 8.0 P.H.). I've been feeding it with algae pellets. The tank has two rocks, but no substrate. i am wondering what might be wrong. They were fine in the main tank.... Any thoughts would be helpful.
