How do you know? It's not easy to get magnesium that low in 35 ppt seawater. Don't just accept a test result when planning to add large amounts of magnesium. You'd need to add calcium and alk for a quite extended period with no magnesium to get that low. Just beware since testing and salinity are both very prone to errors.

As to the original question, the potency of those two products is slightly different, but I cannot see any other important difference.
