I'm returning to saltwater after a 5 year break. So I'm just starting to get organized to start up a 53 gallon reef tank and found that mice had gotten into one of my boxes of dry Marco rock. Roughly 20lbs worth. Immediately put it into a bleach bath without giving it much thought. Am I wasting time or can the rock be salvaged?

Had something similar happen with the old coral skeletons a friend gave me. I cured them outside for a few weeks after rinsing thoroughly. There was definitely an odor, but by time I put them to use they were fine.

Agree with others.....I'd use that rock in a New York minute. It's fine.
