Hi all, has anyone else completed a Microbiome test? I’ve attached my results. I’m most interested in how I can reduce the SCTLD pathogens without disrupting my system? I haven’t been successful in keeping SPS. They turn white within a couple weeks and I’m wondering if this is a large contributor in my lack of success. Looking for feedback and recommendations to improve my tank.

Do you have apparent coral diseases?

I have several issues with these sorts of tests that have been documented in other threads, but one of them is the dilemma you have now: what to do (if anything).

I do not have any indication at the moment but have tried to keep so frags several times in the last 18 months with zero success. I do have a birdsnest frag as a test and it has been healthy for a few weeks. I had an issue with my nitrates bottoming out previously that likely also impacted the prior attempts to keep SPS.

I have a large order of SPS frags coming and want to make sure I’m doing everything possible to be successful this time around.

It’s a good idea to get everything ready, but I k ow of nothing one can do about having possible bacterial pathogens, or even if that makes it more likely to have a problem.

Randy, have you seen this thread on the topic?

As for keeping on hand would you recommend amoxicillin or cipro (or both)? Also where can it be purchased without a script?

Which thread?

I’m not really familiar with the best ways to treat coral diseases, but whatever that is, having it on hand is always a fine plan.
