What is a good, cheap, microscope (is that possible to be good and cheap??) that will hep me analyze whether or not I have diatoms or Dino’s? Figured if it is cheap enough why not...I have spent enough on other equipment in this hobby;Pompus.

Cheers!

I used this one to help others identify Ostreopsis in my system. I'm not sure what you consider to be cheap, but $75 was a bargain, in my opinion, to get started with a plan for treatment. I have not seen any signs of dinoflagellates in my system for nearly two weeks, which is a result of a proper identification and treatment.

Look on EBay and filter to view used ones. Schools and labs routinely get rid of old scopes, and there are high quality used ones available for pennies on the dollar. I got a $300 lab scope for about $20. I’ve had it for ten years and it still works great.
