I am wondering which one I should add next, current tank inhabitants are, pair of clownfish(designer ocellaris) diamond goby, pink streak wrasse(there are multiple caves for the damsels to hide in) and 2 chromis, tank is a 40 gallon breeder 8 months old with the possibility of a firefish in the future. Any advice will help

Midas blennies get 7 inches, might be pushing it for your tank as they are really active blennies. I would suggest looking into a smaller blenny, all of them are so cute and full of personality. I think you are playing with fire with 5 damsels in that small of a tank (clowns and chromis are damsels too). I would skip the damsel especially if you want a firefish. You wont ever see the firefish because the damsel will pick on it. I have one with my two firefish and it constantly bullied everyone especially the firefish until my maroon messed him up. Behaved now but this is also in a 70 gallon! Just my opinions. I do love firefish they are really fun once comfortable and dont like fast moving fish. Mine stays at the bottom at the tank because the chromis (zoomies as I call them) are constantly buzzing around and they irritate the firefishes

the tank isn't permanent and in a year or two will be upgraded, any suggestions on stoking the tank? other blennies, different fish etc. Anything will help idk what to stock anymore

I would wait on the damsel until you upgrade, demons for sure. Royal grammas are colorful, dottybacks (some people say they are evil but yet to find one that is since I get captive bread). Tail spot blennies are cute, starry blennies are cute too, but lawnmowers are awesome. Have a fun personality and keep the tank algae under control. Love those dudes! Could also look at a scissor tail dartfish, they are shy but cool when comfortable too! Possum wrasses are small as well
