Why does my midas blenny have stripes?

They can get a mottled pattern when sleeping/stressed! As mentioned above pictures help!! Preferable under white light

When stressed or trying to hide they can adopt a mottled pattern. Mine likes to perch in a recess on a high rock, and will go brown mottled when it does so, in camouflage mode. When it swims out it goes back to the normal gold color.
