Hello, dear reefers,
I saw some YouTube videos with a new skimmer from maxspect MJ-SK400. I like the design and I believe the footprint fits in my sump as well. My question is is there a place in US that carry this or doing pre-order for this skimmer? And how much does is this in US? Found some in the European website for 350 euro. I think that comes out to be around $400 US. Just want to see if anyone hear anything for this skimmer

Just ordered one from AquaCave. They seem to be the only ones who actually have it in stock as of this date.

Yeah. I got mine swapped out already. Already skimming within a few hours. Really quiet.

Probably need to invest in an additional pump in case something happens to this one.

I am also upgrading my skimmer. My number 1 criteria for chosing is noise.
- Is this skimmer less noisy than a nyos 120/160?
- Did you have other experiences with less noisy skimmers (bk maybe) or is this one a benchmark?

Thanks in advance for your opinion!

Mine has been running for two months and it is absolutely silent at 70%, which is the highest it's been set. My only complaint about it is the difficulty of removing and replacing the cup. It's an incredibly tight fit and prying it loose within the cramped confines of the sump and cabinet is a job.

Thanks for the feedback @ubiq :). Everyone I talk to that owns this skimmer says the same so I guess it will be my choice as well.

Yeah, I have heard the same about how difficult it might be to remove the cup and my sump is not high at all so it might be a challenge. Nevertheless, the lack of noise, how effective it is and price are higher in my list so I will have to live with that and i am fine with it

I had a reef octopus 150sss before. It is quieter than my old skimmer. And i agree with the tight skimmer cup, it take some force to pull it off. I applied little bit of silicone grease to it and it works a little better.
