Modifying an Aqua Ultraviolet

Has anyone modded their HOB UV. This was for my last tank and HOB worked fine for it, but it will not work for my current setup. I need to do some plumbing.

In looking closer at the housing, it does look like the hang on back compnent is glued onto a straight pipe. I’m debating doing some cutting to get it back to the straight pipe. A tad nervous about that though.

Ah i see that now. Maybe it will be a size you can glue a slip fit barb onto it. If not I think a hose and clamp would probably work since there will be little to no pressure.

I can confirm that it is in fact glued onto an outlet tube. Whatever they use for a glue, it is quite strong. I’m gonna have to do some sanding and polishing to clean this up
