Visited Cleveland a few weeks ago, went to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Museum, then stopped at Rocket Fizz, they had some meme-worth metal signs. Some I can't posts here

I must say that Wisconsin in the summer was 10 worse than here in Indy and our winters are far more mild. So many more factors are at play!

Lived in Wisconsin for 20 years, when going outside during the final hours of light, make sure you bring a pint of blood with you.

In my 10 years here in Arkansas, I've had about 10 bites. So I'd have to live here for about 3,000 years to catch up for 20 years worth of bites in Wisconsin.

On the other hand, if you roll in the grass here in arkansas, you'll pick up a million ticks. In wisconsin, not only do you have to roll in every last inch of grass, you'd have to really hug every tree in the nature reserves in hopes for a tick.

Strange tradeoff lol.

Probably just a few months out of the year. I have heard stories about them chasing moose into the lakes and rivers. They also say they're worse in Alaska than they are here. Being surrounded by millions of acres of rice fields they get pretty bad here.

I spent 6 weeks as a surveyor for the International Boundry Commission on the Alaska / Canada border and the mosquitos may not be large but there are clouds of them everywhere. So much water in the ground that I would sink up to my buttocks in the muck. Then you would about loose your boots to suction as you tried to lift your leg for the next step. All the while we wore long sleeve shirts in layers as well as gloves and mosquito nets and Jungle Juice repellant. Still the sketters would find a place to bite through your shirt. I don't know to this day if the 15 pounds I lost was due to physical exertion or blood loss each day.

The worst day was about 6 hours to do 11,000 feet of survey. Had to cross floating mats and call the heli to hop us across three water crossings all within sight of the boarder crossing just north of Beaver Creek, BC. The surveyor training me on the equipment named us Lewis and Clark. What an adventure. The things I have had to do to survive the "great economy" of the last eight years! Lol...just when is that recovery going to kick in anyway? I guess it was worth it just to pay my son's college bill for part of the year.

I thought I would share my coral cactus on this thread too. It says resilient and everlasting on the label. Lowes for $15. 20160516_192224.jpg 20160516_192242.jpg 20160516_192255.jpg
Is that cactus reef safe?

We had a couple of those. It's actually 2 different plants grafted together. Ours never grew and died about a year later. I'm not the best at taking care of plants though.
