I think you just haven't had a good experience with cats.

I grew up with cats because my parents didn't want to get me a dog. I loved cats because I was an animal lover and that's all there was. It took until I was 10 or 11 to get my first dog. That dog and I had a bond like nothing on earth. I was a very troubled kid that had some abuse issues and trust issues. I was pretty weird (ok still am) and that little dog was my best friend. I took him everywhere. He even saved me from drowning in the creek once when I was about 12 or 13. (Bumped my head on a bridge and went out cold face first in the water) Amazing story, but too long.

One time this little guy ran out of his invisible fence and followed my scent 5 miles all the way to my school where I was playing basketball with some friends. I came out and found him sleeping next to my bike. He had to cross busy roads to reach me.

This little guy meant the world to me he healed my heart and allowed me to overcome so much. My wife picked up where he left off (although I had both for a good while). I have been with her since she was in 8th grade and I a freshman in highschool.

Don't say that! Lol. That cat loved that little boy. We had alot of cats when I was little too. We dogs too. Love all of them. Me and siblings would divide the cat's to which ones were ours. Broke my heart when a cat of mine would die. Our cats are pretty good with everyone though.
