hey guys I’m just curious if these white spots on my red Montipora Capricornis are new growth signs or a sign of burning from my lights. Sparing you all the water parameters I have several other Acros growing well in the tank but this Monti is placed very high in tank and I just increased light intensity. I’m using a Giesemann Aurora, it’s directly underneath the LED portion of the light, approx. 24inches below light and coral is about 2 weeks old and was slowly moved up to its current location.....lastly.....I haven’t been on R2R very long but y’all are awesome an I’m very happy to have joined the community!! If you need more info (I know I was pretty brief) let me know and I’ll post more!

It does kinda look like it's getting burnt. You could try turning your lights down a bit and slowly going back up over a couple weeks. Also possible to have nudis, you should look for those if you have recently added coral.

Yea I agree with you. I don’t think it’s nudis, the change happened during the day and I’ve been home with my wife regularly checking the tankmout today. I decided to move it down lower in the tank and not directly under the LED portion of the light fixture.....we kind of decided probably best course of action and we can maybe get it to grow up towards the light in the Monti spiral type formation which would be cool! I’m going to laugh in a few weeks though if it starts to grow from the white areas :)

The way monti grows for me it's better to be lower because of all the shade created. Well played sir.
