So I finally got my new Aquatic Life T5 Hybrid fixture installed over my tank. Have been eying this fixture for over a year and am super happy with it already. My issue now is mounting my SB Reef sBar to the fixture. I really don’t want to drill my brand new fixture, especially since where I’d have to drill is where the ballasts for the T5’s are. I know people out there are running these fixtures with sBars and/or reefbrites, so how do you mount them? Pics & details will be greatly appreciated!

Those grooves in the front and back face are for sliding a bracket on to attach reefbrites etc. Contact aquaticlife they sent me the brackets to use for my xho actinics. It makes for a really clean and slick way of mounting them. Awesome tank btw!

Have any pictures? I’m hoping that can angle the sBar enough since if it mounts it “flat” it really won’t work for me. I need to mount it so it’s on somewhat of an angle.

It mounts a little off the face and then your sbreefbar mounting brackets would screw into it. I have reefbrites but can grab a pic here in a few minutes to show you my light setup.

That would be perfect. Thanks.

First pic you can see the little slider bracket. It's literally a little bracket that is raised that slides in with a screw hole.

Second pic you can see how the reefbrite brackets mount to it. The lights also pivot in the bracket so you can angle them like you were talking about you needing to be able to do with yours.

Third pic just shows my entire light so you can see how they look front and back.

Very nice. The brackets for the sBar are a little different than the reefbrite so might take some modifications. I’ve emailed aquatic Life and asked about the mounts so we’ll see.

They were great to deal with and shipped promptly. Great customer service. I just private messaged them here on r2r

How far does the Reef Brite and SB stick out from the aquatic life fixture? My canopy is going to make it a tight fit.

Hey I wanted to follow up on the Brackets.
Did aquatic life sell you these?

I just emailed them, and initial response claims "they do not have brackets for outside mounting and I should mount inside.... lol.

I mounted a 30" Reefbrite XHO within a 36" AqL Hybrid fixture.
I was able to take the brackets that came with the reefbrite, flip them so that they faced inwards, and then ziptie them to the oem brackets on the aquatic life fixture as a test fit and it worked effortlessly. The 30" spread is just fine on a 48" tank

If i insert the top then the bottom is too long... do you have to take apart the entire light to get them in?

Send a picture of what they sent you. I had to take off the side bracket to slide them in.
