Moving a mushroom directly from high to low phosphates. A really bad idea?

I am giving away a mushroom and just discovered that my phosphate test was only reading about 25% of the real value. They are actually at 0.19 ppm. (also confirmed that at the LFS). Can the mushroom be put straight from my tank into one with lower phosphate levels (0.05?) without hurting it? Immediately going the other way - from low to high - must happen to corals from the LFS all the time.

I agree with you that it must happen all the time, Personally, I'm always impressed at how adaptable corals are, they can put up with a lot of different water conditions.

I think that if the water is good and clean and stable, then it will adapt.

That’s a very small change. Not a problem at all.
