For the second time, my cluster of MP60s have taken out a Naso tang. There are aftermarket guards for the 10 and 40, but not for the 60 .... plus it’s unclear to me that they’ll actually work. Anyone with any clever ideas?

Oh, and please no variations on the ‘well the fish must have been sick’ .... neither was sick, they just don’t seem to evade the pumps very well.

I fashion little covered tubes for inflow protection of the return pump. Sure they could be altered for the MPs. Got it from Michaels. Needs very small zip ties. Belated, you sure fish were not deceased before or else aggression?

The NemProtect guard for the MP60 is worth a shot. It’ll mess with the flow a bit but should keep your tangs safe.

Yeah I saw those. Unsure that they'll actually work though .... and appear to be OOS. I have an idea that I am going to try.

The best nem guards I gave found are made by a member on R2R. They are a direct replacement that he designed and 3D prints, AND they are very affordable. Contact @Evan West to get some. You will be glad you did!

I’m going to try this. A routed pvc ring with gutter guard. Unless you significantly increase the intake area, not clear that there’s an improvement.
