Hey guys,

So I currently have a biota baby yellow tang in the acclimation box from 3 days, it’s around an inch or slightly bigger. I also have a medium sized 3 inch sailfin tang in the tank (Redsea S-1000). It hasn’t shown any aggression towards the yellow tang so far, I plan to keep it in the acclimation box for few more days.

I have a copperband butterfly coming in on Friday which is roughy 2 inch in size. Can I put it in the acclimation box with the yellow tang? How likely is it to show aggression towards the yellow tang?

Acclimation box dimensions: 12”L x 8”W x 8”H

I can make 3 different compartments in the acclimation box each with 4”L but it might become too small for them and cause stress. If I wanna have 2 compartments one will be 6”L and other one 4”L.

I mean not ideal space wise, but I dont see why it would be a hard no either if it isnt super long

I've kept multiple fish in my homemade acclimation box before. It's tight, but it's also temporary. So long as they're not showing aggression to each other, it'll be fine. Yellow Tangs can be aggressive, but as it's a small one and still quite new, you're probably ok. The brand new Copperband almost certainly won't be aggressive right away.

That copperband looks thin, be ready to feed it often which may be difficult if the tang is a piggy.
