That's because the large turbo(turban) snails come from colder waters, and often times cannot stand the warmer temps we keep our tanks at.

To answer the OP,
I have a randalls pistol, 2 skunk cleaner, 5 peppermints, and 1 blood red shrimp all living together peacefully in an 80g cube.

I do have a couple small emerald crabs and haven’t had issues that I’m aware of, it’s the hermits that seem to evict snails from their shells regardless of there being other vacant shells available
Again, though, some hermits -- like the Halloween -- are very specific about their housing requirements. You shouldn't have a problem with this species kicking (or eating) your snails out of their homes unless you have cone snails in your build, and most reefers prefer not to collect venomous (translation: deadly) snails in their tanks. :)

I have a ton of trochus snails in my one build with a Hallowe'en hermit. It leaves them all alone.

Many species of cone snails (a large group of predatory marine snails) are venomous. In fact, many fatalities have been reported over the years, mainly from the Indo-Pacific region, amongst people who have handled them carelessly. Fortunately, you can buy empty and decorative cone snail shells from craft stores or off of eBay.
