Beautiful ! Is this tank still around?

thanks yeah still here

Really awesome tank!!

Thanks

We need updates:whip:

Maybe soon - I had a bunch of corals (mostly zoas) that were overtaking the tank and over growing everything so I had to take it apart to get them out and while I was at it I cut everything back to leave some room for growth. I'm in the process of putting it all back together now
I really like the overgrown overcrowded look but this was ridiculous and I was starting to lose corals to competition for space
I should have taken some before and after pics but I was to busy

Well I'm just about done with the tank remod
- replaced optics
- zoas and all the overgrowth has been trimmed, sold, traded, and given away
- sps have been cut back and reattached in an " elevated stance" to allow better flow through
- rock has been reworked a bit to allow more room for sps, and I bought a few new frags
small and overcrowded for now but will thin later after I see what likes my tank
- flow pattern has been adjusted for sps
- bought some new zoas to arrive on Wednesday
- a couple more touch ups and then let it grow again

Pics will follow in a week or so, coming up on three years pure led, it will not look look like an established tank again for a while but sometimes you just have to redo it to keep it fresh

I'm a little late on the annual update, but have been waiting till I decided what I was going to do with my light set

Back story - I've been wanting to add some NB and HV LEDs to my build for quite a while now but just didn't have the time. Recently though I've had 4 RB's burn out that need to be replaced so forcing me to go ahead and just do it now.
If anyone is curious I estimate about 22,000 hours on these LEDs and of the 12 RB's on that channel 4 have died as of now, so that should give a good apx of their true life as used on a reef tank

Anyway, this weekend I hope to get some work done on it and will do a full update after it's up and running. This will actually be the third major change in the 4+ years I've been running this DIY light set.

This is about what I hope to end up with
28RB, 10 NB, 10 HV, 20 CW, and 4 WW on 4 channels

Bad news!
Last week a front silicone seal on this tank failed dumping about a hundred gallons of saltwater on my living room floor.
Almost everything lost, I may save a couple of my fish and a coral or two that were on the very bottom of the tank but everything else is gone.

I waited to update this thread until I had an opportunity to speak with someone at glass cages.

I have been calling them since it happened and finally got a chance to speak to a manager. She told me that because this tank is more then six years old they will not warranty or compensate me in any way.
I tried to explain to her, that when someone spends this kind of money for a custom made tank, they are relying on a certain amount of confidence that they have with that the company they are purchasing from. I thought they would stand behind their product and the quality of their workmanship.

Am I wrong to think that glass cages should warranty this tank at least to some degree even after this amount of time?

I guess I expected this tank to last a lifetime,
Not so much...

Thanks rev,

Unsure what I will do, I can't imagine not having a tank after doing this for more then 20 years, but at the same time the thought of all the work, time and money gone in a mere instant is very discouraging.

Going to give it some time to set in before I do anything.

Thanks
Dawn and I decided to set up a FOWLR tank
The thought of trying to start a reef over is too daunting right now

We bought a rr 120 and I'm going to do all those fish that I couldn't have before because of the corals

And your right other than the tank I had everything else so setting it up was quick and easy, and I'll slowly be adding fish
