my 180 intro

Ok so I have been meaning to do this. So here is my thread of my 180 gal tank
its an acrylic 72x24x4 with a custom 3/4 front
I got the tank almost a year ago. it came with a bunch of Kenya coral and two rocks covered in rsp and about 150lbs of rock
it had
3 gbta
2 saddleback clowns
2 coral beauty angelfish
2 green chromis
1 melanarus wrass
1 lawnmower blenny
1 long needle sea urchine
2 fire shrimp
1 dragon goby

here is a pic of the tank when I first got it.

the rock work sucks... I didn't know what I was doing back then.

I decided I hated the aquascape about 3 months after I set up the tank
and changed it to this.

I liked the aquascape because you could see the gbta close.
by the way I have pc lights. Which I am going to replace soon with leds
This summer I met a really cool guy and he helped me with the aquascaping my tank the right way. He gave me a cool niger trigger too.

Along the way I have learned from my mistakes I guess we all get excited about corals. I found out very quickly how much I don't know about the hobby.
I bought a red monti from a guy that had glued a background with gorilla glue and had phosphate issues because of it.
It bleached the night I brought it home. ( I am very careful with who I buy from and what I put into my tank)

I decided to get a quarantine tank for fish and corals
so I bought a 24 gal jbj here is a pic.

over the last year I have learned a lot, sometimes the easy way and sometimes the hard way as I am sure we all do.
I look forward to learning more about the hobby

MarvinsReef, I have 7 4 gbta and 3 rbta I don't know why but about a month ago something happened that cause my nems to bleach white and then they split. the one of the rbta just split 2 days ago.

Thanks for the kind words. My best advice is to take your time. I love my big tank because its so stable. I have only had one issue with my tank knock on wood...
get good lights too. that's the part that messed my tank up.

yep the colored back up. it was the lights that caused the problem. I am now running 175 mh and will be switching to leds within the next 6 to 8 months.

the last picture has a total of 7 nems 1 red and the rest green. I thought it would be a good idea to thin out the heard but I wasn't fast enough I got rid of 3 and both the green and red nems split twice... so I have 3 rbta and 5 gbta lol not including the one I just sold the other day lol the good thing is they don't move at all. They stay in the center of my tank.
