i posted this in the meet and greet a while back and never started a tank build thread so here it is....
Just a lil backstory. I have a 155 gallon bow tank. Used to be fresh water tank. It had cichlids and then a arowana I had a house fire. Lost alot but the tank survived. I lost the light fixture from stuff falling on it. Fishes died. Had some standing water in there for about a month or 2 before we was able to actually get in the and syphon the water out and take everything out of it. The seals seem fine. I filled it half way no leaks. I got some water stains (calcium) that doesnt seem to come out no matter what I try. Razor, ajax almost any cleaner I can think of. But I would like to get this beauty back. And since it's in my basement/ work shop I would love to attempt a salt water tank so I can just stare and my customers can enjoy the view... I been staring at my tank for a while and just want to see something beautiful now instead of looking at it he way it is. It's just a reminder of the fire. it's time to move on. I know its gonna take me a while to get where I want it and I'm ok with that. I watched the 52 weeks of reefing by brs very informative. Alot to take in and remember. Anyway all I have is my tank the stand and a fx5 filter which from my understanding cant be used . here are a couple pics of the setup
water test.... this thing took forever to fill up
could not stand the way the stand looked so stripped it down
started getting things in the mail........ not the super expensive stuff, just something to get me started
