Would my chalice keep spreading out if placed to the sandbed? Or will it spread out only on rock

I haven't kept many chalices but the one I had continued to grow over the sand bed. This is just one chalice though, so I wouldn't know if other chalices will do that.

A chalice will continue to grow outward on the sandbed. Having a nano, i own one and one coral I wouldn't getting rid of. No space for it
